April is the month of magic, at least for me, since this is my birth month, that's right! In a few weeks time, I'll be 25 years old and I do think that I received my Hogwarts letter rather late... but nevertheless, it's never too late to learn magic and leave the muggle world behind! I recently received my parcel filled with items I'll be using for my first year at hogwarts...

I'll go through them one by one so I can be as detailed as I can be, or at least I can try... I'll share with you the basic things you need to survive in the world of magic! (Basic things only lol)



Of course you'll need the acceptance letter, notifying you of your acceptance to Hogwarts, which will include the list of things you'd need to purchase before traveling and the letter to notify us muggles that we will be using regular post offices to avoid any non-magic folks seeing our rendezvous.
You can't go to Hogwarts if you don't have your train ticket with you so be sure to bring them always!



One of the most important things you'll ever need is of course... your source of magic, a wand... Be sure to drop by Ollivanders first before actually leaving for school! This is an essential, and everyday item you'll be using! I can't live without books so I make it a habit to bring my library card whenever, wherever! A lot of spells to learn and a lot of secrets to unveil!



The Marauder's Map is a magical document that reveals all of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Not only does it show every classroom, every hallway, and every corner of the castle, but it also shows every inch of the grounds, as well as all the secret passages that are hidden within its walls and the location of every person in the grounds, portrayed by a dot. It is also capable of accurately identifying each person, and is not fooled by animagi, Polyjuice Potions, or invisibility cloaks; even the Hogwarts ghosts are not exempt from this. And that's the reason why this is an important item you must take with you! NOTHING can fool this piece of paper, NOTHING.


I make sure that I bring snacks, and items I can read for leisure and free time. My all time favorite snacks are the Chocolate frogs (which includes a Famous Witch/Wizard card inside!) and of course the legendary Bertie Botts Every Flavoured Beans to munch on while I read QUIBBLER or the Daily Prophet to pass time.

Other things that are on the package but I did not include on the list:

• The Hogwarts Map - I have the most powerful Map of all, no longer need to bring this \
• The Proclamation poster - it's included in the parcel but, there's nothing to read there
• Hogwarts completion certificate - This is proof you've finished Hogwarts, but I always want to go back.. 

 And that's it for this list! Be sure to bring everything, if you forget, bring your Remembrall in case you forget something!
