mika's online diary

Hi guys! I'ts been quite a few days since my last post, but I'm back with my report on the recent successful solo event of Kawaii Philippines, and that is the Kawaii PH Book Launch: Beyond the Cutest Dreams that took place last June 17, 2015 at the SM Megmall Event Center!
I arrived 8:00 am to help with the setting up of the event and of course the Kawaii PH booth, a few hours later, the rest of the team arrived again (because they were already there for the ingress the night before) and we finished setting up everything, the entrance officially opened at a little past 10 am because we did run out of time at first but everything else went smoothly!
First photo is the top view of the event, 2nd photo is the Sakura Tree from the Kawaii PH HQ for photoshoots, 3rd photo is a preview of the Kawaii PH booth, and of course the backdrop for the event! The event was small, but very accommodating, I really love how everyone was smiling when they bought the books! And it's also fun to see the sponsors!

The whole set up was sooo cute that you'd want to take photos of everything! literally! (that's what I did lol)
There was also a mini exhibit of photos from Kawaii PH co-founder Anne Kate Pinero, Kawaii PH blogger and Ambassadress Ashley, and Kawaii PH Art director Chichi Romero!
And of course my selfie with the rest of the Kawaii PH team!
Since I had work and had to leave early, I wasn't able to wear a kawaii outfit like everyone else, so they were all calling me "madam" lol haha! I'm super happy that Kaila and the rest of my senpai's in the team had entrusted me with a lot of duties, upon reading the book, I am officially a PR specialist in Kawaii PH haha!
And by the way, thank you to everyone who sent me their applications to be a documenter for this event! I'm sorry we weren't able to accommodate everyone to get free passes, but thank you again and hope the people who passed had fun!
If you want to get a wider over view of the whole event, I did include my video in the post (2nd vlog) so that you'd get a birds eye view of the whole event! again thank you so much to everyone who supported the Kawaii PH book launch!

ANNOUNCEMENT:

The Kawaii PH Book is now available for purchase online at the Kawaii PH Store!
The book is for 200 php + shipping fee!
Order yours now!
Games, tips, inspirational stories and more awaits you!
Thank you kawaii lovelies!

Hi guys! So finally! after a looooong time thinking about if I would create vlogs or videos or DIY videos, here it is! The first episode of Marotesque Diaries TV! (still thinking of a name though lol, like for the series... Marotesque TV.. or maybe something else lol)

So this video is just a looong introduction of myself, and of course spreading the Kawaii PH vibe through YouTube as well~ I do apologize for my look lol didn't fix my hair cos I got lazy, didn't also put on contacts, so it literally looks like I just woke up haha!

The vlogs I will be creating in the future would include travel documentaries, DIY's, haul videos, reviews, food tripping and a lot more! I've decided to document the kawaii life I'm leading since I joined the Kawaii PH team, and hopefully this can also inspire a lot of people to live the kawaii lifestyle as well!

I also hope my videos would be able to communicate with fellow Kawaii enthusiasts from all over the world starting of course in the Philippines!
Youtube Channel : Marotesque Diaries

I did not delete my old videos which were a bunch of covers of jpop songs, anime and vocaloid songs! So hopefully you can check those out too and maybe we can sing together sometime!

Hopefully my next video will be up soon!

If you have suggestions/recommendations for my upcoming videos just leave a comment or send me a message~

Thank you!

Hi kawaii peeps! So today, I will be writing a small review for the newest Gashapon surprise here in Manila! It's one of my personal favorites, Creamy Mami! I really love idol-related anime's (especially the 80's-90's era, even better than current anime's actually lol)
So I was at SM North Edsa in Quezon City, and decided to check Comic Alley (even though they sell the same stuff and has limited Anime Merchandises now) I stumbled upon a Sailor Moon gashapon, but was empty ;A; but! Creamy Mami was there to save me!

The image at the top was taken from Tumblr, and those are the kawaii surprises you'd get in this version of Gashapon machine! So I was hoping to get Mami in her idol form or the kawaii waitress one... was super nervous but!

I was super happy that I got the one I wanted!

This is the cover on the machine, I want them all actually lol!
Because I was so happy about it, I decided to make a "unboxing" video of it lol

The machine needs 3 Tokens, and each token is for 60 php, so that's a total of 180 php... it's a bit pricey but super worth it because the size isn't as small as keychains in other gashapon machines lol
Overall I really love it and the quality is super nice as well, it's not that hard to attach her legs to her body, and it doesn't come off easily!

So! Drop by this Comic Alley branch if you also want Mami's magical gashapon collectible!

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I posted a review/recommendation or whatever you want to call it, but recently, a friend of mine suggested that I create my top 5 list of kawaii online shops that may either be based in the Philippines (or not)
So, I decided to do so and curated my top 5, just a disclaimer, by PH based, what I mean is that the owners/creators/managers of the online stores are Filipina/Filipino, but not necessarily mean that their items are on hand and ready to ship. Some of their items are for pre order (which will be coming mostly from Japan) and they also have on hand items. Just to clear the confusion lol

So without further ado! Here are my top 5 favorite Online Kawaii Shops!
(in no particular order)

1.) Milk Club

MILK CLUB sells unique thrifted finds and trendy asian apparel -- sweet to dark. A collection of dolly, kawaii, aesthetic, anime, harajuku fashion and more!
*Starred items simply means it ships fresh from the manufacturers to you!handling time is fairly the same: 2-10 business days depending on the product and its season.Metro Manila, Philippines/China
Milk Club (if I'm not mistaken) was created and or managed by one of my fellow Kawaii PH bloggers Naomi! (http://naomilku.com/)
She provides super cute and rare items from Japan which can be pre-ordered! She also has on hand items and she also sells some of her pre-loved items that came from Japan as well!
Their prices are not that high and they provide world wide shipping!

They also have an Instagram account

Visiting their shop will make you a kawaii guru!

2.) Pep Club PH

Pep Club Clothing is a retail enterprise based in the Philippines managed by your average 17 year old college girl. This store was established last May 2014 and is now distributing numerous amount of kawaii-pastel-soft grunge-pale-pink-harajuku products all around the world.

Pep club is one of my favorite shops because of the uniqueness of the clothes they provide!
I'm all into Aomoji-kei fashion and they provide not only that but also kawaii, akihabara and Shibuya fashion! High class is what I'd call it! Prices are very reasonable! one of the most reasonable in my opinion lol and like other shops, they also have an instagram account! and as mentioned, they ship world wide!

These unique fashion will make you stand out more in your own style!

3.) Candy Kawaii Lover Shop

Of course, I'd never leave out Ashley's (Candy Kawaii Lover) cutesy shop! Most of her items are on hand, but she also has pre order kawaii items! She mostly sells accessories, make up, and other cute items that you can find in the land of Japan! Most of her items are of course bought from Japan!
I actually posted a separate blog post about her shop HERE

As of now, she just started so she only manages her store through her email and instagram account, she ships worldwide!
Please do visit her shop!

You'll surely become a magical girl (or boy) once you purchase from her selection!

4.) AOMOJI-KEI MANILA

As I've mentioned before, my favorite style would be Aomoji-Kei so this shop is perfect for me! I actually wrote a review for their items, store process and shop already HERE
I bought a lot from their store before and I plan to do so again!

So please do read my review (link provided already)

And you'll surely turn into a high fashion model once you purchase their lovely items!

And last but not least....

5.) Kawaii PH Store

As you all know, this just recently opened (well the website at least) and we (from the Kawaii PH team) are all very excited for this store! Included are brands from Dolly Kaye, Mad Tee Party, Whimsicute and Rainbowholic!

I'm sure most of you are already familiar with these products/brands! but yes, personally, I buy a lot from our own store lol!

Everything in the site is cute and made with hardwork!
Kaila (rainbowholic) posted something the Kawaii PH Store in her blog HERE

If you want to know more, please do visit our sites! Links will be provided!

And that's it for this blog post! hopefully this helped people where to go when it comes to ordering online, I know a lot of people are scared and uncomfortable when it comes to online shopping because of scams and all, but these are the top 5 that I recommend and can vouch for that they are legit and not a scam~

So what are you waiting for?? Let's go shopping!

Ashley

That was her post about looking for a shop assistant! So of course I sent her a PM through facebook asking her if it was okay that I apply,  she said okay right away and I was super happy! So my first assignment was to help her with her mini booth at the Animax Carnival held last May 30-31, 2015 and SMX Moa! Of course she did pay me, pay the ticket, and was in charge of my food as well!

We were setting up her mini booth while waiting for more people to come! I actually bought a lot of stuff from her as well lol!

I bought a pastel pink Emoda bag, powder blue dog printed blouse, and the Ichigo socks! (she gave me Milk Tea and Matcha sticks as well!)

Aren't they adorable!?

Of course a selfie with Ashley is a must! she's so pretty!

And some Kawaii girls visited the booth as well! (fellow members of the community!) we were super happy and again thank you for supporting Candy Kawaii Lover shop!

My boyfriend and my younger brother came with me and waited for me as well, it seems that they enjoyed the Animax Carnival by playing all the games and winning random prizes lol

Overall, hopefully Ashley will be able to expand her business (and I'll work full time for her as well as Kawaii PH lol)

Some of her on hand items!
(photos from Kawaii PH, Candy Kawaii Lover, and me!)

That's it for this post!

Visited Vanilla Cupcakes at UP Town Center last week, and just as expected, everything in this cafe is so adorable! I met with my boyfriend here before going around the mall (on with the date lol)
The ambiance is so adorable that I actually see future School of Kawaii activities here, hopefully if the space is bigger~

The interior actually has a mix of Vintage and Kawaii and it seems like a fun place to hang out in, probably because there wasn't much people yet, so it's quiet, but yeah, the interior is pretty homey~

The cupcakes were all super adorable and I actually couldn't choose which one to order, in the end I ordered the one with Nutella because, you can never go wrong with Nutella lol

The cupcake was for 115 php, they also had other food in their menu like pasta, rice, soup, salad, etc. Some of the cupcakes go up to 150 php and their cheapest one is 95 php.
The taste (of the one I ordered) was actually okay, to be honest there wasn't anything that special, and I was kind of disappointed because I couldn't taste the Nutella, I have to admit, I actually find the place very pricey, not a little... Very. Because the cupcakes were small, but way overpriced.
I've tasted cupcakes from different shops, I especially love Cupcakes at Sonja's because their's are so damn good (not sure if their prices changed but their cupcakes were at 65 php)

Overall, if you have extra money and want to relax in a cute place, this would be the place for you! but not on a everyday basis unless you have lozza money or you want to go bankrupt lol

ending with a selfie collage with my bae!
See you next time!
